What could've been.....

Good....but flawed. There's no point in making a South Park style if you don't do it right....you used the kid template on adults...

If you're not going to put in voices then at least add subtitles so people can tell what is being said. Flapping mouths with no words are sloppy.

The violence was okay. Decent but just another addition to a long line of Matrix rips.

Not to be too hard nosed. It IS better than most of the junk on NG.

Comet Magnum Episode 18

I wasn't going to bother reviewing, but too many people seem to have an axe to sharpen on this series so I'll put the extra typing effort in.

I'm glad I'm not Mark McPherson. I'm a much weaker guy, and would've resorted to cussing out some of the unappreciative bastards who make comments on these movies. You know, I for one have managed to get over the looks of Necromancer and Comet Magnum, and can still see that they're enjoyable series. These people bashing the series for the looks are so fickle. The ones who come back, torturing themselves over and over just to give a 0 review are even more worthless. What are they proving anyway? That they're the kind of people that ram their heads into brick walls and complain because the wall is there instead of walking away?

Do you guys know what happens to most 'serious' series on NG? They give you a fantastic looking trailer....or hell, if you're lucky even 1 or 2 episodes of good looking stuff, but what happens 99.9% percent of the time? They give the hell up! They either give up after they do the trailer or put it off forever, making the viewers wait forever for a continuation. (Oh, hi there Rigo.) Yet here this Comet Magnum series is, with it's bad drawings and 19 episodes with good scores and awards. Now either McPherson has a *Big* group of friends who spam the voting scores with 5s, or......MORE PEOPLE ENJOY THESE EPISODES THAN SOME PEOPLE THINK.

And look at some of the people who bash on this series. People who have no movies, or who don't have a movie that stands from the molten goo of most Newgrounds fare. Clockcrew members...afraid to stand on their own as authors, hiding behind those clock symbols (which aren't hard to animate at all, by the way..) In other words, just nobodies.

Listen here, nobodies, you make a 20 episode series with Mark's scores and maybe you'll sound credible. Until then? Shut up. Because right now the only thing you people have proven yourselves as it not knowing a good thing if it busted your jaw open.

And THAT.....is all I have to say about THAT.

I don't spam the portal. So all those 5s were by people who actually liked it. I do have over 100 people that have me listed as their favorite author. It is true though. Most people will only make a trailer and then never work on the series again which always pisses me off. I dove right into my series with no fancy trailer because people want more episodes so they know what happens in the series and they won't be left forgetting what they just saw.

Stylish...

I liked it.

It isn't the first silent film immitation on this site, and it isn't the first 'live-action' film on the site, but the marriage of the two in this case works pretty well. I even liked how the ufo was so shoddily edited onto the shot where the kid was riding away. It felt like a little touch that made the movie more of a 1930s era piece.

Good going.

Okay.....

Glad to see the Comet Magnum series back.....it pissed me off when you missed your projected August 29th launch date....

And Biff, that is a bad idea. Not only could you come off as an asshole, but you'd make the series that you have so many complaints about more popular....

Yeah.

It was alright. I wanna be more specific with this review but I don't know where you're coming from here. Is this supposed to be like a serious Batman tribute? Or are you just warping the characters and trying to make them your own (a pretty stupid choice if you're choosing the latter in my opinion.)

It was okay.

Wow.

Here I had been convinced that 3D people and flash just didn't mix.....

This was a great movie, really a suprise. I was expecting sub-par and came away with something great. It'd be a shame for you to give this up.

Okay.

Well the concept was a new one, I'll give it that. So many movies on newgrounds that aren't comedy usually feel heavily influenced by animes so a movie like this was a natural result.

However, I didn't think it was very funny. I don't know know what you were going for here, but the jokes in this movie didn't generate more than an agreeing, "hmph," from me. I did however manage to smirk about the Akira Toriyama style comment. I think Vegita_The_Stampede might be interpreting you wrong when you talk about how that style gets copied so much. He might mean in the professional anime creation sense, while I read it as a bunch of kids on Newgrounds just ripping off DBZ left and right because they have no imagination.

Moving on, I gotta take off points because it didn't seem like too much effort was put into the final product, I'll leave your drawing ability out of the equation and say that the most work here probably was just the audio, with a few static images from you and a bunch of anime images from the net or wherever. I wouldn't care as much if the characters you drew were a little more animated, but that's how you dropped the ball and that's how it bounced I guess.

Finally I'd like to comment that it gets under my skin a small bit when anime fans bash on other anime fans because some of them saw their shows on Cartoon Network. I mean, what is so fricking wrong about that? I have all of Evangelion (minus Death and Rebirth), and Bubble Gum Crisis 2040 on DVD and let me tell you that $200 dollars isn't chunk change!! If people are willing to live with the edits and still enjoy the show then let them. Cowboy Bebop doesn't become any less of a great series just because it has more mass attention than some show from decades ago.

And THAT......is all I have to say about that.
